Don’t make choice without knowing the answer to “What is the best way to sell my home” until you have all the facts.  You have choices.

The three primary choices for selling are For Sale by Owner, utilize a real estate professional, or choose some hybrid or alternative method.  Getting help from an agent is often the best choice – you deal with an expert in the field who puts forth their full time and effort – assuming this is a high quality agent.

Going FSBO is a great choice – as long as you understand there are MANY STEPS OF BEING A FSBO SALESPERSON.  If you do and you are willing to put forth the work and carefully seek out some help, this can be your best choice by far.  It can save you tens of thousands when you ask “What is the best way for me to save money selling my home?”  But tread carefully.

Finally, there are alternatives or what I call the Hybrid method.  Do most of it yourself but hire out for select services where you lack the expertise, patience or time to handle certain aspects.
